This is an unusual piece, built for sting. The cowhide tails are very stiff and dense. While I expect the tails will become more supple with use, it will never be a soft flogger. On a scale of 1 to 10 (Velvety Soft to Very Heavy Thud) this would be a 4, with lots of sting.
